The Minister of information who is a member in the government’s negotiating team in the revitalization forum in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, says he is optimistic that total peace will be achieved in this round of talks.

Michael Makuei Lueth says the parties are beginning on Tuesday with chapter one and they will continue until the seventeenth of February.

He says the agenda is about the permanent ceasefire and full implementation of the reviewed agreement.

‘The agenda talks about the permanent fire, that is one, full implementation of the agreement; the revitalized agreement and the then agenda number three is the reasonable time frame for the elections’ he explains.

Makuei says the government delegation is instructed not to talk about articles not touched by IGAD Council of Ministers.

The issue of two armies in one country will not be discussed because the government has learned a lesson from July 2016 incident, he notes.

‘This idea of the two armies in one country is out of question we will not talk about it even because we have already learned from that experience of J 1. Even I think nobody is in favor of that again’ Makuei adds.

Makuei was talking to journalists on Monday night in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
