Over 30 fire brigade officers’ graduate in Torit

At least 34 civil defense forces in Torit Imotong State graduated on Friday after completing two weeks training on fire fighting techniques.
 
The training was organized by UNMISS with the aim of strengthening fire fighters with basic knowledge and skills to manage fire incidences in the state, Emmanuel Radio reports.
 
Lt Salah John Lowu, Acting Director for fire brigade says the training will help the department to respond to fire cases.
 
He urges UNMISS to continue supporting fire fighters to benefit the community.
 
Lt John pointed poor communication system as a challenge hindering prompt rescue of houses from burning.
 
Kyamiza Raymond is UNMISS Aviation Fire Safety Officer. He says UNMISS fire safety department will continue supporting and working together with the civil defense forces to guaranty safety.
 
Mr Raymon advises civil defense forces to sensitize community on the dangers of fire.
