Some South Sudanese are still seeking for safety in the PoC sites on UNMISS bases, despite last year’s agreement signed by the warring parties to ceasefire and protect civilians.
As of first of February this year, the total number of civilians seeking safety is over two hundred thousand, says UNMISS in its weekly PoC updates.
The UNMSS bases include in Bentiu, Malakal, Juba, Bor and Wau PoC sites.
CTSAMM, a body mandated to monitor the ceasefire agreement, earlier called on the IGAD Council of Ministers and JMEC to apply all possible pressure on the parties to honour their commitments.
