The Catholic Bishop of Tombura-Yambio is organizing girl-boy innovative empowerment conference in Yambio.
Bishop Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala says the conference, under the theme: ‘Girl and boy power South Sudan’ will be from January 15 to 17 at St Mary Catholic Parish in Yambio.
He says the three-day forum is organized for the queens of purity and noble boys’ fraternity, Anisa Radio reports.
The Bishop explains that Queens of purity fraternity and noble boys’ fraternity are learners of primary and secondary schools between six to 30 years who have shown love for school and practical skills.
It is a movement of Boys and Girls founded by Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro in collaboration with the diocesan child ministry.
The Catholic prelate says the conference will be divided in to sessions and working groups, providing an opportunity to focus on specific areas from their own perspective and national experiences.
The main conclusions of the conference will be reflected and incorporated into the diocesan child policy and pastoral and social development activities, he discloses.
Activities will include resources and strategies to help girls make healthy decisions that will enhance their mental, social, cultural and emotional speakers, college information, workshops and networking among others.
