Health officials in Rumbek town of Western Lakes State say the usage of plastic bottles is forbidden in the town.
Makur Ater Akoony, senior public health officer in Rumbek issued an order on Friday prohibiting the recycling of used plastic containers, for health reasons. Good News Radio reports.
Akoony says the plastic bottles people use to sell oil, Milk, and other local made drinks, are not safe
The health officer warns that any business man or woman found using plastic bottle to sell consumable food or any liquid to clients will be jailed.
Akoony explains that all citizens must keep away from using plastic bottles to avoid getting diseases such as cholera and diarrhea.
The health officer was speaking to Good News Radio on Friday afternoon in Rumbek.
