The information minister and the government spokesman say the situation in Juba town and surrounding areas is calm after the recent attack carried out by armed group at military base at Kapuri.

Speaking to reporters after the cabinet meeting on Friday, Michael Makuei, says citizens in Juba should go to their normal daily activities.

The SPLA military spokesperson, Brigadier, Lul Ruai Kuong, told reporters also on Friday that the attack was carried out by an opposition group loyal to former first vice president, Riek Machar on their base at Kaburi.

Citizens around Gurei and Lemon Gaba neighbourhoods in Juba say the shooting was so scary.

Minister Makuei describes the attack as a violation of the recent cessation of hostilities signed recently in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.

The government spokesperson reiterated the commitment of the government in respecting the already declared cessation of the hostilities.
