Thousands of faithful in the Catholic Diocese of Wau have for the first time since the outbreak of conflict in the area,celebrated Christmas at night .
Fr Marko Mangu, Diocesan Administrator says it is a great joy for the people of Wau State to celebrate Christmas at night, Voice of Hope reports.
He commends the state government for maintaining security.
Fr Mongu adds that, ‘the night prayer on the Christmas Eve in all the parishes came as a result of the role played by the Security organs and the state government’.
He stresses that the night celebration was because of the cooperation and unity among the people.
believes unity is the only power to overcome everything in life.
Fr Mongu calls on everybody to unite so that stability and security can prevail in the country.
Wau Governor Angelo Taban asks his people and the church to help on the process of trust building among the people to realize peace in the state.
The officials made the speech during the Christmas celebration at St Mary Parish Cathedral in Wau.
