Night robberies reduced in the town after the formation of a joint force that patrols the markets, confirms Deputy Police Commissioner in Tonj State.

Joseph Mayiei Aru attributes stealing at night to lazy and idle people who spend the whole day without working, Radio Don Bosco reports.

Some traders in the streets of Tonj acknowledge that night theft reduced after the formation and deployment of joint forces.

Traders John David Dior encourages the state government to maintain the patrolling force to protect the lives and the properties of the civilians.

Another trader says observes reduction of crimes at Tonj markets, but theft continues in residential areas.

Last month three shops were broken into, but security apparatus managed to bring some of the culprits to book.

Most of the stolen materials were recovered.
