Violence erupts in former Tonj East, Police Commissioner reveals

Tribal violence erupted on Saturday between Kongor and Thiik communities of former Tonj East of Tonj State, says Police Commissioner.
 
General James Madut Ngor says Deputy Governor Manhiem Bol Malek is on the ground with forces to calm down the security, Radio Don Bosco reports.
 
General Madut reveals that the fighting left over forty people dead and eight wounded on both.
 
The injured ones are undergoing treatment in Tonj Civil Hospital.
 
The Police Commissioner discloses that security situation has been brought to control.
 
General Madut adds that Tonj people are peace lover but criminals are causing problems among them.
 
The officer advises public to hand over criminals to prison service for discipline.
