Gbudue Ministry of Health and Environment launched Voluntary Counseling and Testing Centre in Ikpiro residential area of Yambio on Wednesday.
Reverend Ueko Christopher, HIV/AIDS Coordinator for Greater Western Equatoria reveals that the vision of the national Ministry of Health is that by 2020 there will be zero new infection of HIV/AIDS.
He says another vision of the ministry of Health is to bring services closer to the citizens so that they can be able to know their HIV status.
Reverend Ueko appreciates Union for Struggle against HIV/AIDS and Poverty for the good initiative of opening a Voluntary Counseling Centre closer to the people so that the community can have quick health services.
Ueko adds that those clients who will be tested positively in the new centre will immediately have access to health services.
The Chairperson of Union for Struggle against HIV/AIDS and Poverty appreciates the state ministry for opening the Centre as their group that will be more beneficial to the local population.
Justin Woduapai Francis says lack of funding affects most of their developmental programs.
The Deputy Chief for Yambio Municipality Edward Aliminio Mombasa urges the group to work together for the sustainability of the centre.
He also calls on the state ministry to cooperate with the Union to carryout Voluntary Counseling and Testing activities in the area more effectively.
