Shortage of washing soap hits Tonj markets this week raising a price from 160 to 350 per bar, the Chairperson of Trader Union in Malith market tells the public.
Ruai Deng Ruai explains to Radio Don Bosco that lack of soaps affected restaurant owners and tea sellers very much in the area.
Deng says the carton of washing soap reached 7,000 Pounds two days ago.
He blames the traders who buy goods at high prices and resell it to the community at the same prices that poor person cannot afford.
It is a condition that forces the community to buy the goods at high prices, Chairperson of the Union explains.
He calls on the government to look into issues that are facing the community before they worsen.
Theem Geng, one of the business ladies, says there is no change on commodity prices due to high rate of US Dollars in the country.
If the government cannot resolve the issue of Dollar in the country, many people will continue suffering, she warns.
