Some South Sudanese opposition political parties have expressed a mix reaction towards the statement issued by troika countries on the revitalization forum.

A leader of United South Sudan African Party or USAP, Joseph Ukell Obango, says his party agrees with the U-S, the U-K and Norway that the government and the armed opposition must declare a permanent ceasefire before engaging in the forum.

He says silencing the gun all over the country by all the warring parties would mean all are committed to peace in the country.

Troika countries issued a joint statement on Thursday this week urging all the warring parties to prioritize ending the hostilities as a sign of their commitment to participate in revitalization peace forum.

The statement also warned imposing sanctions against whoever violates the agreement.

Steward Soroba, Chairman of the United Democratic Part, welcomes the Troika statement but says he doubts that threatening to impose more sanctions will make a difference.

Soroba agrees including more actors in the forum will bring a final solution to the ongoing conflict.

Soroba says he remains hopeful that peace will soon be restored in South Sudan, but says the international community must take tough measures against individuals who obstruct efforts to restore peace and stability in the country.
