ONO, a national legal organization, in partnership with UNDP on Monday launched legal aid clinic in Western Lakes State.
The clinic aims at providing free legal advice and services to survivors of sexual and gender-based violence and conflict-affected persons, Radio Good News reports.
ONO Aid Manager, Madit Buot Kuet, says the office will post contacts to police stations and other public places for people to easily reach them.
John Malou Ater, Secretary for Rule of Law and Human Rights Advocacy working Group for Civil Society Organizations Network in Lakes State, says the project will have positive impacts to the local community.
It will simplify access to justice and rule of law in the state, he adds.
Former Lakes State Legal Prosecution, Attorney Machar Manyiel, thanks ONO and UNDP for helping communities in need of justice and rule of law.
ONO Aid has other branch offices in Wau and Yambio.
The Project is expected to end after Six months with the possibility of extension.
