Education Department in the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek on Monday gathered head teachers and deputies to discuss 2017 achievements and challenges.
According to Radio Good News, the meeting aims at developing and building Head teachers and principals’ capacity for effective management of schools and allocation of resources.
Education Coordinator, Moses Kopurot Kenyi, says the two-day workshop also looks at how to plan at community-based level.
Kenyi says in addition to construction of schools and clean water sites, the department also trained teachers and parent-teacher associations.
Head teacher of Bishop Mazzolari Nursery and Primary School, Sister Maria Josung, says economic crisis has affected education as parents cannot pay for the treatment of their children.
Sister Maria thanks Diocesan Education Department for providing school feeding to children to sustain them until year ends.
