Some citizens of Yei express fear that they cannot move far distance outside Yei town since the conflict broke out last year due to insecurity.
One of the citizens who identify herself only as Night says they only go to short distances like market.
She says she fears moving far distance to cultivate or fetch firewood because one is either, arrested, shot or raped.
She says the conflict has affected her so bad and remained with nothing because all her belongings, including clothes were all looted.
An IDP who was displaced within the area calls on the warring parties to stop war so that they can feed their children easily and send them to school.
She regrets that she cultivated things like potatoes and other produce, but she could not harvest them because of insecurity.
But Governor David Lokonga Moses admits the fact that people were killed and looted by armed men, but the situation is now calm.
He stresses that the army commanders were instructed to protect civilians.
Another IDP says he left his place where he used to cultivate because it is insecure and he is now using people’s garden who seek refuge in the neighbouring countries, requesting the government to end the war.
However, some residents of Yei town say the situation now days are slightly better compare to months ago.
