Liberty Football Club has emerged the winners of Football for Peace Tournament in Torit, Imotong State after beating their opponents, Kuku FC two goals to 1.
Speaking during the closure of the tournament, Imatong state deputy governor Margret Itto, applauded Liberty and Kuku FCs for the long run to the final. Radio Emmanuel reports.
Itto states that the two clubs exercised unity and peace among themselves and called them to build peace in the state.
SPIDO Executive Director Wodcan Saviour Lazarus expressed his gladness for the success of the tournament.
Saviour encourages football clubs to exist in love, peace, harmony and unity.
Wilson De Second, Kuku FC captain admitted the loss, stressing on the fact that football is a game that has always the winner and the looser.
Liberty FC captain Okeny Peter on the other hand tells his opponents to have courage to win next time.
Many of Kuku football club fans lost the morale following a controversial goal that however raised the expectation of their opponents.
The tournament organized by SPIDO and funded by United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Torit.
