Wau state governor, Angelo Taban Biajo says the ongoing disarmament process is required so that communities could live in peace.
Speaking at Terkweng area over the weekend, Taban says he is there to monitor the process and make sure civilians surrender their guns to the authorities. Voice of Hope Radio reports.
Taban says the community should cooperate with authorities in the area to surrender their guns without resistance.
Governor Taban added that there is a plan for the three neighboring governors of Wau, Tonj and Gogrial to meet and hear about the reports on the ongoing process in their respective states.
He warns army not to loot anything from civilians as they carry out the search for guns.
Taban reveals that similar process will include all the counties of the states.
