Unknown gunmen robbed GESS Cash transfer from at least four girls at Munuki Block B in Juba on Friday.
Girls’ Education South Sudan or GESS Cash transfer is meant to support school girls to continue their education.
A pupil, who prefers anonymity for security purposes, says the armed men entered their home and took all her money.
She adds that the criminals also looted her father and mother’s money.
The girl laments that she was supposed to use the GESS money to buy her basic needs.
The pupil’s sister says the armed men also looted her money and her school bag.
She narrates that when the robbers were taking her bag, she had to request them to empty it and leave for her the books.
She says she is not happy because she wanted to buy things like pants and other basic needs.
The father of the four school girls explains that the gunmen entered his house by force and demanded the money given to the girls.
He says the robbers took over one hundred thousand South Sudanese Pounds from the house and all the girls’ money.
The mother of the girls regrets that she had planned to buy basic things like sanitary pads and other necessities for her girls. She expresses unhappiness for what happened.
The mother urges the government to protect its citizens.
