Civil society and parliamentarians discuss security reforms

Members of civil society network groups in Wau have started a consultative meeting with law makers in the state on chapter two of peace agreement concerning security sector reforms.
 
Joseph Luka Akuar, Chairperson of civil society network says the forum deliberated on the security challenges facing people of Wau state such that they will be incorporated in the revitalization process. Voice of Hope Radio reports
 
Luka says they have identified cattle herders, some militias and rebellion as the security threat to the civil population.
 
Luka appeals to IGAD to consider Wau state during revitalization forum for inclusivity.
 
He adds that they have raised recommendations to the state to open highways, forum for the rebels to negotiate with them to put down their guns and join peace process.
 
Members of state parliament say insecurity have affected people in many aspects and there is need to silence the guns and bring peace in the country.
