Chairperson calls on road users to respect visually impaired people

The Chairperson for the blind or visually impaired in Imotong State is calling on the general public to respect the blind person moving on the road.
 
Susan Iduho says in most cases, road users do not recognize blind people, Radio Emmanuel reports.
 
She is also appealing to the government to repair the roads so that the blind can easily move without fear of falling in to potholes along the road.
 
Joseph Opiyo is Traffic Officer in Imotong State says it is their duty to control the road to ensure safety of users.
 
She calls on the public to give priorities to the blind, he encourages road users to understand the use of zebra crossing or white cane.
 
Imotong Deputy Governor Margret Itto expresses government readiness to address issues of the blind people in the state.
 
The officials made the remark during white cane day at civic engagement last week.
