Catholic Organization for Development and Peace or CODEP in partnership with World Vision donated an ambulance to Ibba County Primary Health Center.

The ambulance is under the project of Health Pooled Fund, Radio Anisa reports.

CODEP Diocesan Health Manager, John Gbono, says they planned to provide an ambulance to Ibba to reduce maternal mortality rate in the county.

He describes Ibba as an isolated county which is very far from Maridi and Yambio Counties.

Ibba Health Department will use the ambulance to rescue severely ill patients and those who need the services which cannot be found in the county, Doctor Gbono adds.

He observes that there are cases that cannot be managed in the health facilities of Ibba.

The manger says the number of the people attending health education in facilities is increasing now.

He calls upon pregnant women to regularly visit antenatal care centres.

The manager advises young girls to delay pregnancy in order to build their bodies matured enough for birth.

He advises married women to have child spacing to avoid unnecessary death of children and mothers during delivery.

CODEP is implementing health project in 11 centers of Ibba County in collaboration with the World Vision under the Health Pooled Fund.
