Mayor of Kwajok Municipality advises the youth in Gogrial State to embrace the spirit of peace in their communities.
Asunta Yar Akol says the state government is working for peace through dialogue to achieve lasting tranquility, Radio Voice of Hope reports.
Arich Deng Arich, TOCH Community Security and Peace Building Coordinator, says they are enlightening communities of Gogrial on the dangers of having guns in the families.
He adds that guns in communities are dangerous because sometimes young people can get drunk and start shooting themselves and other people.
Acting governor of Gogrial state calls on citizens to work for peace and avoid fighting each other.
Mayen Mayen Jokor, Peace Commission of Gogrial State, says youths need to be rescued from holding guns because they is threat to their lives.
The peace advocacy rally was launched in Kwajok town with football tournament of over 15 teams of both boys and girls for seven days.
The rally brought together NGOs, UN agencies and government officials.
