Doctor calls on government to treat cancer in South Sudan

A doctor at Medicare Medical Center in Juba is urging the government to bring facilities and introduce centers in the country to treat cancer cases.
 
After a four day breast cancer campaign at Medicare, Dr Achan Chan says out of one hundred and twenty people who visited the medical center, seven people were suspected to have cancer but that will be determine after the laboratory test.
 
She says cancer treatment is very complicated, appealing to have its treatment in the government hospitals
 
A breast cancer survivor, Suher Albino advises everybody to go for checkup for early detection.
 
She says she was diagnosed with the disease since 2012 and was operated within that same year, expressing happiness because she is free from cancer.
 
Joyce Amtay Maranga says she has visited the clinic to check herself because she thinks early detection is better.
 
Chankel Banak Riek calls on the public to be conscious about cancer because it can be managed when it is diagnosed in early stage.
 
The doctor outlines, smoking of tobacco or Shisha among others as causes of cancer.
