Midwifes in Yambio Gbudue State Hospital are calling on the mothers to give their children balance diet so that they grow healthy and strong.
Coloma Jerome Sungekpio, explains that for children to be healthy and strong, parents must balance the types of food they eat every day, Anisa Radio reports.
She says mothers have to start feeding their children while in the womb by eating healthy food.
Jerome says some breastfeeding mothers do tell nurses in the maternity that they only eat one piece of bread every day because of the economic crisis. But the midwife says it is not acceptable because the unborn child will be malnourished.
She warns that by not feeding children well, their immune system becomes week and they fall sick constantly.
