No civilian should be imprisoned in military barracks, says prosecutor

The Public Prosecutor Attorney or P-P-A in Imotong State is warning military soldiers against putting civilians in military prisons.
 
John Wani Ladu says soldiers have mandate to crack-down on criminals but should be done in collaboration with police. Emmanuel Radio reports.
 
He stresses that according to the law, it is the police only can arrest people.
 
Wani says it is a collective responsibility to ensure that the rights of everyone is protected and valued including suspects who are in custody.
 
The public prosecutor urges civilians to cooperate with security agents to reduce the number of crimes in Imatong state.
