The Commissioner of Cabinet Affairs of Tonj State on Wednesday paid visit to cattle camps in Tonj after reports of disputes with farmers in the area.

Daniel Makol Dhal mentions that his office received complaint from farmers that the pastoralists are allowing cows to destroy their crops. Don Bosco Radio reports.

Makol states that touring Wun-Alel cattle camp was to talk to cattle keepers to respect the farms in the area ‘You also need to eat those crops, so don’t destroy them’ he adds.

He cautions that they will apply ‘Marial Baai’ agreement that talks about how to reach resolutions between pastoralists and farmers.

Marial Baai agreement was reached this year between neighboring communities in both Tonj and Wau.

He appeals to the pastoralists to cooperate with famers and respect the resolutions.

He adds that people of Tonj State should stay in peace and harmony with their neighboring States.
