A community leader in Wanhalel County of Tonj State on Friday has confirmed that crops are rotting in the farms due to heavy rain.
Akol Wol Mabior says it has been raining heavily for three days causing flood in the village. Don Bosco radio reports.
The community leader of manyangyic village under Thooc Payam explains that crops like sorghums, sesame, groundnuts and pumpkin are covered with water.
Wol says the little sorghum ready for harvest in September is now drowned in water.
Wol stresses that if the flood continues for long the local community might lack seeds for next year.
The community leader fears that the flood might bring a lot of diseases such as malaria yet the area lacks health facility.
