Jesuit Refugees Service trains teachers on Peace Education in Yambio

The Jesuit Refugees Service or JRS have offered two-day training on peace education to teachers in Yambio County of Gbudue State.
 
Benjamin Kumbabeyo Matondo JRS Peace Coordinator says the initial plan for the training was to equip teachers and students on peace and how to disseminate the message of peace to the learners in both Primary and Secondary Schools, Anisa radio reports.
 
He confirms that relative peace has come to Gbudue State which needs more knowledge to be shared with different people on the importance of peace in South Sudan through trainings.
 
Batibeyo Justin a teacher from Yambio Primary School expresses readiness to give the knowledge he has acquired to the pupils to be peace makers in Schools.
 
Justin believes that the ongoing conflicts in South Sudan came as a result of ignorance about peaceful co-existance.
 
Charles Ali Mabu says the training will make them to work for durable peace in South Sudan.
 
Joana Hellen Head Girl of ECSS Secondary School who attended the training promises to start implementing what she learnt, by forming peace clubs in her school to advocate for peace.
 
She appeals to leaders at all levels in the country to listen to the voices of children who are crying for peace and stability.
