Viable Support to Transition & Stability Program VISTAS in collaboration with Rumbek Local football association concludes USAID supported football peace tournament in Rumbek.
The tournament targets eight clubs in Rumbek, four clubs in Cueibet and four clubs participates in Yirol under the theme ‘support peace messages through football games.
Kachuol Ater, VISTAS regional program development coordinator told Radio Good News that tournament is design in a way that can bring people together on agenda of campaigning for peaceful co-existence.
He Deng Mabok, Rumbek Local football association chairperson applause partners for choosing sports a way of passing messages of peace.
Minister of Culture youth and sports, Stephen Mathiang Deng said peace can be achieves through sports teams.
He urges youth and all sports lovers to be ambassadors of change through sport by uniting people.
The speakers made the remark during VISTAS football peace tournament final match.
The competition was won by Holy Family Football Club against Union FC on Saturday in Rumbek Freedom Square.
