The officials of Our Lady of Holy Rosary Parish Primary School are calling on parents to avoid moving their children from one school to another.
They say transfer of learners lead to poor performance in schools, Radio Emmanuel reports.
Clemetina Itwari, Chairlady for Parent Teachers Association at the school says, it is everybody’s responsibility to control the transfer of their children.
She says studying in one school for years improves learners’ performance.
Ocen Minjok, a Parent says creating good foundation for a learner must start from home.
He urges fellow parents to support teachers to improve the learning space for both girls and boys.
Father Anthony Odoemelam, School Administrator, says most learners end up not knowing how to read or write because of poor foundation.
The administration is ready to uplift learners with low thinking capacities through coaching, he vows.
The administrator calls on parents to allow their children to attend coaching which he says will strengthen learners’ knowledge.
The officials promise to work hand in hand with parents in creating safe learning environment.
The speakers made the remarks during the second term closing date of Our Lady of Holy Rosary Parish Primary School in Torit on Monday.
