Food prices have reduced drastically in Tombura after citizens have good harvest this season, says Press Secretary in the Office of Governor in the state.
Dominic Ismail told Radio Anisa that farm products like sorghum, maize, sesame and many crops have yielded very well.
Currently, food prices in the market in Tombura and other towns have dropped compared to the previous season, he reveals.
In Tombura, a gallon of sorghum is sold at 50 SSP, maize 60 Pounds, a gallon of sesame 250 SSP and a kilo of tomato is ten SSP.
Meanwhile in Rii Yubu Payam, bordering Central African Republic, food prices are less compared to the ones in the state Tombura.
One of the farmers who spoke in Tombura open market says though rainfall delayed in the state, citizens have worked hard and their farm products have yielded well.
A woman who prefers anonymity for unknown reason says basic commodities imported to Tombura remain at high prices which is very difficulty for local people to afford buying.
The Press Secretary and other workers tours markets in Tombura County and Payams in the state to confirm the prices on the ground.
