The community leaders of Lopit East County in Imotong State are warning youth in the area against taking laws into their hands.

They call on the communities to cooperate with the local government authorities by reporting suspected criminals to face the law, Radio Emmanuel reports.

Lauterio Abalu Obore, Chief of Ifohe Boma Hejuhiteng Payam observes there are youth who prefer mob justice instead of reporting cases to traditional leaders.

He asks God to change the hearts of young people to focus on developmental ideas instead of conflict.

Peter Olia, Ihirang Boma Chief in Imehejek Payam, vows not entertains any youth who have criminal records, while calling on the communities to do the same.

Chief Olia is asking youth to cooperate with the chiefs in order to eliminate criminal activities.

The Boma traditional leader tells his fellow chiefs not to support criminal activities in their localities.

The speakers were talking in a community peace conversation organized by Caritas Torit at St John the Baptist Parish in Ibonni Lopit East County.
