The government of South Sudan regrets the killing of American journalist and that it would sue him to court if he was only injured for entering South Sudan illegally, says spokesperson.

Michael Makuei Lueth says Christopher Allen was denied entrance to South Sudan because of his hostile reporting.

The American journalist’s death was not a targeted killing, he adds.

Makuei claims that the American journalist was reporting on the activities of the SPLA-In Opposition.

He says the government will not accept any responsibility of Allen’s murder.

Makuei was speaking to the media following handing over of the body of the late of Allen to American Embassy in Juba.
