The rate of infants’ deaths is very high in Timbere, Lottenya area in the Nuba Mountains due to lack of midwives, says health officer.

Alamin Kalia Kowojo explains that four women lost their babies in the process of delivery due to lack of trained midwives, Radio Voice of Peace reports.

He notes that there is only one midwife and cannot assist the many women to give birth safely.

The officer urges health practitioners to help by training more midwives and provide delivery equipments.

Kalia explains that there are other complicated health problems that need urgent intervention.
