The United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS flights resumed on Monday after being temporarily grounded due to non-issuance of security clearances.
The Mission says it is a usual procedure that UNMISS applies in advance for clearance to fly in respect to laws of South Sudan for the safety of personnel and aircraft.
Some applications for clearance came last week which resulted in the grounding of UNMISS flights on Friday and Sunday, says the Mission.
The decision to deny security clearances was linked to the arrival of the first contingent of the Regional Protection Force, says the statement.
It adds that the details of the continued deployment are being discussed with the South Sudanese government.
The UN Security Council under Resolution 2304 in 2016 mandated the Regional Protection Force to protect the airport to ensure it remains operational.
It also mandated the Force to protect key facilities in Juba essential to the well-being of the people of Juba.
