The Humanitarian Coordinator for South Sudan and the community joins the globe in celebrating World Humanitarian Day in Juba on Friday.
The occasion under the theme: ‘Stand together’ will take place at UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs of OCHA near Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
The commemoration aims to rally support for people affected by humanitarian crisis and pay tribute to the aid workers who help them.
The note CRN got says, this year World Humanitarian Day advocates specifically for the protection of civilians and aid workers.
At the event, participants will reaffirm that civilians caught up in conflict and aid workers in South Sudan are not a target and demand action to protect them.
Senior members of the humanitarian community and government officials are expected to be available.
