Community Empowerment for Progress Organization or CEPO on Tuesday held a roundtable discussion on access to justice in Rumbek, Western Lakes State.
The one-day meeting that attracted 30 civil society organizations, lawyers and state members of parliament focused on local community access to law, Radio Good News reports.
CEPO Media Officer, Daniel Mabor Kon, says the meeting aimed at empowering communities to better understand the legal system in the country.
A participant, Anzoa Annett, says the legal discussion forum will assist her as an activist to interact with communities on issues of justice and women’s rights.
Benjamin Laat Mathou, State Member of Parliament appreciates CEPO and Democracy International for initiating programs that opens community eyes on access to justice.
The one-day roundtable discussion was supported by DI SUCCESS at Rumbek Civic Engagement Centre.
