County Health Department in Tonj Civil Hospital on Tuesday trained eighty participants on how to distribute river blindness medicines.

Payam supervisor Mary Nyanakool Deng says they trained about 80 vaccinators including social mobilizers to go and distribute drugs to communities in remote areas, Radio Don Bosco reports.

Nyanakool mentions that they are not treating only river blindness and elephantiasis.

The supervisor stresses that river blindness is caused by black-fly found at the river side.

Mrs Deng appeals to the communities not to refuse drugs.

She discloses that social mobilization will go from house to house to alert the public about the campaign.
