Some HIV/AIDS patients in Wau under Al Sabreen Association refuse to take medicines because of lack of food.

Some patients told Radio Voice of Hope that they refuse to take drugs because they did not receive food for more than three months.

HIV/AIDS drugs have strong effect when taken without food, they add.

There is no food for HIV/AIDS patients and this is not from organizations, confirms Carmela Arkangelo, Chairperson of Al Sabreen Association at Wau Teaching Hospital.

The chairperson says about 12 of some HIV/AIDS patients who, refused to take drugs died.

She adds that there are 650 registered members in the Association and they all have identity cards for membership.

The leader urges the patients who refused to swallow their medicines to take in order to save their lives.

She adds that taking drugs is very important to balance energy in the body of the patient.

Carmela advises families of people living with HIV/AIDS to help patients through counseling and prayers.

She asks the government to provide security so that humanitarian aids can reach the needy.
