The youth recommended forceful removal of guns from the hands of civilians to achieve lasting peace in the state.

The idea came on Thursday when youth, government officials and civil society organizations discussed involvement of urban young people in communal conflicts in the state, Radio Good News reports.

Akim Cepounyuch, DARD Executive Director supports forceful disarmament as a means of rooting out the culture of looting in the youth.

Cyrilo Majok Thuch, South Sudan Red Cross Volunteer Communication Officer, urges the organizations to adopt humanity and impartiality in delivering services to communities.

State Member of Parliament, Mading Malual Yom, advises youth to refrain from politics and carry on community programs to boost development.

The one-day workshop that drew thirty-one participants was facilitated by Civil Society Organizations Network with support from DI SUCCESS.
