Officer urges teachers to be peacemakers in schools

Be peacemakers in varies secondary and primary schools in Yambio, Conflict Mitigation officer of Action for Peace and Development Organization urges teachers.
 
Pastor Samuel says it is the role of the teachers to show peace among themselves before expecting learners to embrace harmony, Radio Anisa reports.
 
Teachers should also learn how to resolve conflict in their schools and teach students to do the same in their areas, he adds.
 
The pastor stresses the need to use the radio talk shows to enlighten citizens on how to forgive and reconcile in order to realize peace and development.
 
Basiame calls on participants to come up with some recommendation that enable the organization to know the views of the community about peace building.
 
Participants’ representative, Stephen Dicks says teachers must start peace within their communities and teach students about the importance of tranquility.
 
He urges fellow teachers to form strong peace groups in their localities and work as ambassadors of peace.
