Citizens of Khartoum Jedit residential area in Tonj State on Monday complained to the government to dig some boreholes to provide water to them.
The appeal came after the only hand pump broke down last week, Radio Don Bosco reports.
Akol Gum, chief of the area, says his people are suffering from thirst due to lack water points.
Gum cites lack of roads and health facilities as other difficulties facing the people of Khartoum Jedid.
He requests the state government to respond to the need of people.
Radio Don Bosco could not reach government officials for comment by the press time.
