Communities need to be educated on the dangers of small arms, says Coordinator for Justice and Peace in the Catholic Diocese of Torit.
Fr John Opi Severino says the presence of small arms in the hands of civilians exposes them to high risk of conflict, Radio Emmanuel reports.
The coordinator says peace can be seen when local communities use their weapons properly and not for resolving grievances.
Fr Opi was talking during a one-day peace forum in Torit under the theme: ‘Peace our mission”.
