Lack of rain for over a week is making crops to dry up in Farish farming areas of Nuba Mountains.

Witnesses say the situation is very worrying, Radio Voice of Peace reports.

The condition is being intensified by light rain which brings extreme heat, they added.

The rain that was pouring well enough since the start of June has reduced, the witnesses observe.

Last week, villagers reportedly beat a man to death after suspecting him of rainmaker rituals in Kauda.

Police could not confirm the incident.

However the lack of rain appears to have stricken the entire Nuba Mountains region.
