Community Empowerment for Progress Organization or CEPO on Tuesday gave Lawyer Mabor Maker award for being an ambassador of sexual and gender-based violence of 2017.
The Ambassador urges the government to enact laws that can fight harmful traditional practices including gender-based violence, child marriage.
He also calls for enlightenment of the grassroots level.
Galdino Ochama, CEPO representative says they awarded Mabor to advocate more on sexual and gender-based violence and raise awareness on harmful traditional practices.
Colonel James Dak, Head of Police Special Protection Unit notes that they came up with a roadmap on gender-based violence after President Salva Kiir signed zero tolerance communiqué.
The officials spoke during the Award program by CEPO on Tuesday.
