The Minister of Finance and Trade in Wau State says expenses and transport is not the cause of high prices of food commodities in the market.
Akol Majok Rok criticizes traders’ claims that transfer of goods is the one raising prices, Radio Voice of Hope reports.
There are some criminals taking money illegally especially at night, but traders want double gains, confirms the minister.
He says the government would interfere to rescue consumers from suffering of being double charged.
The minister explains that taking business agencies to Wau market was to reduce the overcrowding.
He adds that soon they would relocate places of meats and vegetables.
Minister Majok appeals to traders to cooperate with citizens and not to think about more benefits at the expenses of the poor people.
