The HIV/ AIDS is rampant in the Nuba Mountains region, reveals a nurse at Mother of Mercy Hospital.
Michael Haroun says they plan to establish HIV counseling and testing centers in various areas, radio Voice of Peace reports.
He made the statement ahead of the closing of five-day training about HIV counseling and testing at Hakima Health Institute.
Haroun assures that HIV counseling basic requirements will be provided to the health centers.
The official states that it was important for people to know their HIV status.
The hospital recorded over 20 HIV cases in 2013 but reports say the number has dramatically increased over the time.
