The Sub-chief of Baiporu residential area in Yambio says his community is working for peaceful coexistence.
Marko Asuani appreciates the efforts the state government to maintain peace in Yambio, Radio Anisa reports.
He reveals that people in the area have chosen to live in peace with each other at all times.
Chief Asuani notes that they agreed in to form a committee in the area that will monitor the peace implementation.
The community of Baiporu has selected two women to follow up and monitor cases facing fellow females in their community.
In a related development, UNDP has formed Community Police in Yambio that comprises of 100 members including women to monitor some issues.
Mary Asuma one of the Community Police at Baiporu appreciates the initiative of the police formed in the area with the help of UNDP.
Though with the effort from the government to maintain peace in Yambio, brutal killings continue to be reported in the outskirt of Yambio town.
This week alone two different dead bodies have been found on the ground at Saura Boma in Yambio and the government promises to bring the perpetrators to book.
