Eighty percent of senior state employees are still living in Juba and most of them have failed to report to their workplaces since 2016, says Yei River State Minister of Finance.
Kenyi Abiaza John told Radio Bakhita that the civil servant have been warned to delay their salaries if they don’t report back to work.
The state has been facing high cost of bank charges in transferring salaries from Yei to Juba but this will stop soon, he explains.
Only few senior officials report back since the creation of the state, he adds.
Top officials, ministers, director generals, directors and administrators are supposed to provide services in their various capacities towards institutions.
