Senior Judge of Court of Appeal says there are currently thirty eight children being held for murder, rape and theft cases at Juba Central Prison.

Geri Raymondo Legge told Journalists on Thursday that eleven children are charged with murder, two with rape and others with theft cases, Radio Bakhita reports.

Some of these crimes occur as a result of extreme poverty, hunger in the country, he notes.

Judge Raymondo stresses the need to bring these children in a single juvenile home.

The senior Judge advises the Director of the Prison to categorize the children according to their accusations.

The juvenile cases should be handled according to Child Act which allows negotiations, dialogue and a simple punishment, Judge Raymondo says.

He advises that the children should be arrested and detained according to the panel code of the country.
